The job consists of a 24 hour rotational shift.

Fire Inspector I (Re-Advertised)

The City of Bangor, Maine is recruiting to fill an open position as a Fire Inspector within the Fire Prevention Bureau. This position is responsible for inspection and enforcement of municipal and state fire prevention laws, codes and regulations as well as fire prevention activities. Competitive candidates will have a combination of education and experience in the application of fire, life safety, and building codes which includes knowledge of commercial building construction and fire protection systems. A degree in Fire Science/Fire Protection/Fire Engineering is preferred. Candidate must attain NFPA Fire Inspector I certification within one year of employment.

Starting salary for this position is $22.63 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
